Vera Mae Key

Vera Mae Key, age 80 of Houston, entered into rest on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 18, 1939 to Luther and Eva Massey. Vera was a 36-year member of Houston Congregational Church, and also attended Pleasant Hill Church. She enjoyed church activities and spending time with her grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, June 24, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where the service will be held at 4:00 p.m. . Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Brother Bobby Smith and Brother Homer Jones will officiate. She is survived by her son, Ralph Key; daughter, Lilly Key; sisters, Frances (Don) Vincent, Doris Garrett, and Vonda (Steve) Roberts; five grandchildren, Kenny (Haley) Key, Charity Watts, Shian (Andy) McDonald, Ralph Woods, and Chris Spain; 14 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Ricky and Chris Moody. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Key; sons, Kenny Ray, Donnie Ray, Billy Joe, and Charles; daughter, Rebecca; and grandson, Terry Ratliff.
