Vera H. Dryer Snoddy, 94 of Double Springs, entered into rest on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Vera was born on January 9, 1928 in Huntsville, Alabama. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her cats and enjoyed traveling with her sister, especially taking trips to the beach. Vera attended Wallace State Community College in her 50’s, where she received her Associates’ Degree as a paralegal. She remained in that field assisting her husband, Edd, for 25 years. Vera was always considerate of others and was an angel to everyone.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 12:00-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be at 2pm. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Double Springs. Brother J.D. Snoddy will officiate.
Vera is survived by her sons, Charles E. Dryer Jr., James T. (Stacey) Dryer, and Thomas B. Dryer; daughter, Bonnie Dryer (Bill) Coons; step sons, J.D. (Theresa), Tom Snoddy, Shane (Kathy) Snoddy and David (Shelia) Snoddy; grandchildren, Melissa Dryer, Chuck Dryer, Melaney Dryer, Brooke (Fielding) Alderman, Kasie (Ryan) Bishop, Alan (Hannah) Coons, and Cane Dryer; step grandchildren, Brandi Burgess, Blake Burgess, Marcia (Ben) Lamar, Dara (Zack) Wilson, Diane Snoddy, Tyler Snoddy and Samantha Snoddy; 6 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; and nephew, Byrne (Melanie) Turner.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles E. Dryer; second husband, Thomas E. Snoddy; parents, James T. and Helen E. Harrison; sister, Sandra R. Turner; and nephew, David Kyle Turner and step grandchild, Tommy Snoddy.
