Sherry Ann Godbee Luker, 76, of Cullman entered into rest on Thursday, February 27, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Luker was born October 25, 1943 to Berlis M. "Bert" Godbee and Helen Parris Godbee. Sherry was a retired and accomplished poultry farmer for Gold Kist and homemaker. She was one of the greatest gardeners her friends and family had ever known. She grew beautiful flowers and designed stunning landscapes. Sherry was a great cook, having learned from her grandmother, Minnie Godbee. She delighted in feeding others. She was a loving, devoted mother and wife. Though working hard and busy days with her farm, she never missed any event in which her children were involved. She was so proud of and adored her twin grandsons, and the name she loved most was "Nana". Sherry was a lifetime member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and a longtime resident of the Nesmith Community.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 6pm-8pm at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in the Nesmith Community, where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2pm. She will lie in state from 1pm-2pm at the church. Brother Chris Godbee and Brother Junior Garmon will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
