Richard M. "Rick" Self

Richard Michael “Rick” Self, age 67 of Double Springs, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 19, 1954 to Melvin and Barbara Jean Self. Rick retired from Alcoa in Illinois after 25 years of service. He then moved to Tennessee where he was a Special Projects Manager for Clayton Homes for 23 years in Knoxville. After working most of his life, he finally retired and moved to Alabama with his loving wife Terri. There are no services planned at this time. Rick is survived by his wife, Terri Goodwin Self; daughter, Holly (Mike) McDaniel; granddaughter, Lindsey VanWinsen; grandsons, Timothy “T.J.” VanWinsen and Michael McDaniel; great grandchildren, Landon VanWinsen, Willow Armuor, Jameson Schell, Owen VanWinsen, Adelynn Armour, and Brayden VanWinsen; brothers, Randy Self, Mike Self, and David Keymon; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Barbara Jean Self; sister, Vickie Lynn Edwards; and brother, Scott Keymon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Rick’s honor to the Children’s Hospital or the Shriner’s Hospital.
