Patricia Faye Walker

Patricia Faye Walker went to her heavenly home on November 5th, 2023.

She is survived by her sons, Allen (Pam) Barbee, Anthony Barbee, Eddie (Carol) Walker, and Tim (Adrienne) Barbee. Pat is also survived by her siblings Maurice (Juanita) Marty, Joan (Bob) Alspach, and Mark Marty. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Marty and Wenona Yeager. Her first husband Jimmy Barbee, her 2nd Husband Richard “Neal” Walker, her daughter Tina Barbee, and her brothers, Richard Marty and Anthony Marty.

If you knew Pat, you knew JOY.

Pat had the uncanny ability to bring LIFE into any room she was in. Her smile brought the light, her laughter soothed your soul, and with her love came an acceptance that showed the unbiased love of Jesus, unlike many will ever see. Even if you were the child she chased with a razor strap, you knew her arms were still the safest place to be. She embodied love, and if she knew you, she LOVED you.

Not only did she have the ability to bring life to the people surrounding her, but she also infused life into every single plant, flower, or seed that she touched. It wasn’t JUST her green thumbs that made everything flourish, she would assure you that you had to “talk to them.” See, even her plants knew her love, that’s why they always grew strong. Like her love- Strong.

We have joy because our Pat, our mom, our Grandmother, our sister, and our dear friend, is home with Jesus, and what a joyful place to be... and we grieve because her light here on Earth has gone out. But, rest assured, if you have experienced the love of Jesus, then you’ll carry her love with you always, because that’s what it felt like to be loved by her.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where the service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Blair Congregational Methodist Cemetery. Dr. Travis Sharpe will officiate.

In lieu of arranged flowers, the family requests live plants so they can create a memorial garden after the service.
