Mary Lois Nelson

Mary Lois Nelson, 97 of Double Springs, entered into rest on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Hendrix Health Care.

Lois was born on August 23, 1924 in Nauvoo, Alabama. She loved the outdoors and working in her yard. She also loved gardening and always had beautiful flowers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 9:30am – 11:00am at the Double Springs Church of Christ, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Double Springs. Vance Hutton will officiate.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Marie (Kenneth) Overton, and Peggy Nelson; sons, Larry Nelson, and William Nelson; grandchildren, Tanya Mathis, Tim Overton, Shannon James, Kevin Cordell, Traci Gill, and Anthony Nelson; 17 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Humphries.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fank Nelson; parents, A.D. and Lillian Prestridge; brothers, Edward Prestridge and J.A. Prestridge; sisters, Annie Paul Norris, Alta Mae Buchanan, and Melda Green; and grandsons, Chris and Chad Nelson.
