Martha Alford (June 19, 1932 - July 13, 2023) passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and vibrant devotion. Married to John Warren 'Buddy' Alford for 72 years, Martha's life was an example of faithful commitment.
Martha's unwavering dedication to her children, Regina Alford Holdbrooks (Tommy), Bonita Alford Snoddy (Steven), Bobby Alford (Angela), and the memory of Johnny Alford, was truly extraordinary. She was a loving grandmother to grandchildren Jill Holdbrooks (Brian), Amanda Yearwood (Heith), Stephen Snoddy, Caleb Snoddy (Santana) Arielle Pool (Logan), Sharon Nicholas (Simon), Jon Green, Jacob Alford (Elishia), Amelia Millwood (Lawrence) & Kyle Alford (deceased).
Family gatherings held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent together, especially during Thanksgiving holidays where love, laughter and the aroma of delicious food filled the air.
Martha's faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a devout member of her church throughout her life. Her abiding belief in God and her commitment to her spiritual journey were unwavering, serving as a guiding light for those around her.
A passionate gardener, Martha found solace and joy among her vibrant flowers. Her skill as a Master Gardener was evident in the breathtaking beauty of her yard and flower garden. Witnessing the blooming of nature brought her immense happiness, mirroring the way she nurtured her family and friends with unwavering care and grace.
Martha Alford's funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 16th, at 2:00 pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs. Reverends David Nelson and Drew Robbins will lead the service, honoring her life and the impact she had on all those who knew her.
A family visitation will take place from 12:30 to 1:00 pm, followed by a public visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. The burial will be held at the Alford cemetery in Houston.
In her departure, Martha leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and compassion. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and all those whose lives were touched by her active and unwavering love.
