Lester Ray Petty

Lester Ray Petty, 90 of Double Springs, entered into rest on Monday, July 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Petty was born on November 19, 1928 in Reydell, Arkansas to Charles Albert and Roxie Ella Petty. He proudly served his country for two years in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 1-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held at 2pm. Brother Gary Wakefield will officiate.

Lester is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Petty; daughters, Donna Ray Barich and her husband Bobby, Jackie Marie Phillips and her husband Richard, Loretta Denise Carr and her husband Marvin, and Leslie Annette Walton and her husband Malcolm; 8 grandchildren, Lisa Dianne Barich Reynolds, Kelli Lynn Barich Martinez, Joshua Wayne Ray, Angela Marie Ray Portl, Brandon Paul Ray, Nathaniel Lester Ray, Neva Denise Petty, Corey Owen Fox; 22 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; nephews, A.J. Petty, Larry Petty; and nieces, Linda Watson and Earline Evans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Alma Irene Migrant, Walter Wayne Petty, Emma Lee Hughes, Jonnie May Duncan, Albert Earl Petty, Charles Edward Petty, John Davis “Jake” Petty, Horace Petty; and nephew, Chuck Petty.
