Kelsey Cheyanne Yancey

February 3, 1999 — March 30, 2020

"This obituary was written by the family" Kelsey Cheyanne Yancey, 21 of Bear Creek, was born on February 3, 1999 in Russellville and entered into rest on Monday, March 30, 2020 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. God makes everyone special and unique in His own way. Kelsey was her own person, free spirited. She was a dear friend to everyone and listened to people. She helped give them advice so they would know everything was going to be alright. She was happy, loved life and had a beautiful heart inside and out. She loved unicorns and thought they were awesome. She has always been everyone’s peacock because she was full of life and everyone loved her. In her teen years and becoming a young woman, everyone who knew her called her the “Jokester” because she was funny, happy and full of love. The Jokester, so fun to be around, good friend, good person and loved by everyone. Kelsey liked to hang out with her friends, riding around in her car with the music up loud, enjoying life. She loved to sit at home with her friends and play her video game, Play Station, for hours and hours, sometimes all night long. She loved stuffed animals of any kind, big or small. She loved to cuddle up with them and watch tv and even sleep with them. Most import in her life was her son. She loved her son and would hold him, talk to him, sing to him and sometimes, just look at him. She loved spending time with him and taking pictures of him. She was a great artist and loved to paint pictures and draw things. Drawing pictures is a wonderful talent and she was good at it. As per State and Federal guidelines, a private service will be held. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery in Phil Campbell. Kelsey is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Brandi Stevens; son, Kingston Yancey; her dog, Beanie; sister, Starla Wells; brother, Jonathon Hardin; grandparents, Anita Cromeans “Nanny”, Sam and Lesa Heath; aunts and uncles: Keith and Frances Barnett, Jon and Joe Yancey, Samuel and Amber Heath, Justin and Amanda Sartin; nephews: Thunder, Jason and Brantley Wells; cousins: Timothy Barnett, Jr.; Michael and Tiffany Baker; Nik, Eli, Lexxi, and Kloey Yancey; Trever Burrow; Trayven, Caleb and Juno Heath; and Chloe Hill; and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Jewel McKinney Gentry and Doris Jean Heath; and grandfathers, Charlie Eugene McKinney and John William Heath.
