John Phillip Heatherly

John Phillip Heatherly, 57, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, entered into rest on October 6, 2018.

Mr. Heatherly was born on July 2, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. John served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and the United States Army for 2 years. He was a 1979 graduate of Wauconda High School in Illinois and a 1990 graduate of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. He loved his family and friends very much. He also loved the outdoors, animals, and Alabama and Auburn football.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 11am-12pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 12pm. Brother Randall Prestridge will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.

John is survived by his mother, Marlene Heatherly; brothers, Mark Heatherly, Michael Heatherly and his wife Teina; sister, Laura Heaps and her husband Wayman; aunts, Wilma McGee, Frances McGee, Maddie Heatherly, Gretchen Heatherly, Ann Heatherly, and Judy Heatherly; uncles, Thomas Heatherly, Jimmy Heatherly, Sonny Anderson; nieces, Amanda, Melissa, Dusti, Wendy, Julie; nephews, Seth, Nova, Kiran, Jon, Jeffery, Brandon, Ryan, Burt, Bart, Jonathan; cousins, Arturo, Joseph, Heath, Kim, Tammy, Tommy, Ann, Tony, Billy, Johnny, and Donald; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Heatherly; brother, Jerry Heatherly; grandparents, Vester and Bessie Heatherly, and Merrill and Valerie Anderson; uncles, Troy Heatherly, JB Heatherly, James Heatherly, Marvin McGee, and Morris Heatherly; aunts, Velma Crosslin, Dolly Anderson, Earlene Heatherly, and Bonnie Heatherly; niece, April Heatherly; and cousin, Lawrence McGee.
