Jimmy Ray Hulsey, 71, of Bear Creek entered into rest on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Hulsey was born June 7, 1949 in Haleyville, Alabama. Jimmy loved sports, especially Alabama football and fishing and loved watching his grandson play ball. He was a City Councilman through the 1980’s, a founding member of the City Park and Rec. and a 2o year member of the Alabama Suppliers Association. He was a longtime member and Deacon at Bear Creek #1 Baptist Church and Vice Commander of American Legion Post 51. He played on the 1967-1968 undefeated Phillips High School football team and was on the amateur men’s softball team in 1982 that won the state title.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 12pm-2pm at Bear Creek #1 Baptist Church, where the service will begin at 2pm. Bro. Richard Crumpton and Bro. Gary Wakefield will officiate. Burial will follow in Bear Creek #1 Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that all who attend please wear a mask.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dianne Hulsey; sons, Jonathan Hulsey, Jason (Amanda) Hulsey and Jaylen Hulsey; grandchildren, Jordan Embry, Haley, Hayden, Thomas and Ivy Hulsey; brother, Dee (Londia) Hulsey; sisters, Bonnie Stricklin, Betty (Arnold) Phillips and Barbara Shirley and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Molester Hulsey; brothers, Odis, Jack and Connie Hulsey and sisters, Voncille Barnett and Lillie Mae Hulsey.
