Jerry Brindley

February 4, 1937 — April 3, 2021

Jerry Brindley, 84 of Cullman, formerly of Nesmith, entered into rest on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Jerry was born on February 4, 1937 in Akron, Ohio.

Living by faith - This is one of many descriptions that I would characterize my mom.  Being a believer and follower of Christ from an early age, she loved her Savior Jesus Christ.  She was a faithful servant for her Lord.  God blessed mom with many gifts that she used for his glory and kingdom.  It was faith and the love of Christ that carried her through many wonderful moments in her life and a few moments of suffering.  These past few years, when tables were turned, she had to be cared for instead of caring for others.  It was very hard for her to accept this change in her life.  She would ask, "why is God not taking me home?  I'm ready to go".  In her mind, she felt useless and that she was being a burden to others.  Every time she asked, I would respond with "God's not done with you yet".  None of us really knew why, but we knew that there was a reason.  Looking back, I think God wanted us to receive a blessing.  He wanted us to have the opportunity to help carry mom's cross along with her.  He didn't want her to carry it on her own.  He gave us the opportunity to spend more quality of time and love with her.  For all of us, as a family, we got one more moment with her.  One more chocolate milkshake or shrimp dinner just to put a smile on her face.  You can't take that away.  We will always cherish those small moments of happiness forever.  Now, as we gathered together with both mom and dad, for the last time, we said goodbye to my precious and beautiful mom.  She was welcome into heaven by her Savior and Loving Father, God this evening. It’s a sense of peace to know that she is out of pain. It was a peaceful and precious moment, when mom took her last breath and was gone.

"So don't throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.  For you need endurance, so that after you have done God's will, you may receive what was promised.  For yet in a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.  But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.  But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and are saved." ~ Hebrews 10:35-39

Mom's faith in our Lord Jesus Christ helped her to endure her physical pain.  It is because of her love and faith in Jesus that she received God's promise today.  I know she is whole without pain in heaven and we will miss her greatly.  We will be reunited again one day and it will be a wonderful celebration.  On behalf of the Brindley family, I want to thank you for all your prayers.
