James Monroe Ashley

James Monroe Ashley, 79, of Double Springs entered into rest on Monday, August 31, 2020 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

He was born December 9, 1940.  He was a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam  War.  He loved cookouts and spending time with his family.

No services are planned at this time.

James is survived by his wife, Alma Jean Ashley; son, Victor Shawn Ashley; daughter, Tonya Ashley (Harold) Abbott; bonus sons, Wayne (Paula) Abbott and Bobby Abbott; bonus daughter, Kay (Dale) Halbrook; grandchildren, Josh (Autumn) Lane, Scott Abbott, Ashley Abbott, Michael Ashley, Chris Ashley, Kenny Ashley, Amy (Travis) Fisher, Brittany (Josh) Freeman, Greg (Bella) Abbott, Briana Abbott and Allen Abbott; great grandchildren, Aron West, Brandon West, Sean Bagwell, Samuel Abbott, Lilah Abbott, Hadley Abbott, Adam Thomas and Aubre Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Edwin Ashley and Pearlie Kegg Ashley.
