Hercil Curtis, 92 of Double Springs, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Hendrix Healthcare and Rehabilitation center. He was born February 25, 1927 to Silas and Pearl Curtis. Hercil was a faithful member of the Double Springs Church of Christ. An avid naturist, he enjoyed gardening, bee keeping, and bird watching. No stranger to hard work, Hercil was a proud cattle farmer. He loved ‘fa so la’ singing and looked forward to all family gatherings. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Double Springs Church of Christ, where the service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. . Mr. Curtis will lie-in-state Wednesday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. . Burial will be at Double Springs Memorial Gardens (Cockrell West). Justin Guin and Vance Hutton will officiate the service. He is survived by his son, Michael (Deb) Curtis; daughters, Debra Patterson, Connie (Ricky) Riddle, Judy (Randy) Kilpatrick, Kathy (Tim) Mullican, Andrea (Greg) Pendley, and Angela (Keith) Tidwell; grandchildren, Jason Riddle, Jonathan Riddle, Wes Kilpatrick, Matt Kilpatrick, Kyle Patterson, Kailee Curtis, Miranda Smith, Kara Bishop, Caroline Tidwell, and Juliana Tidwell; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Lecil Curtis; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise Wallace Curtis; parents, Silas and Pearl Curtis; brothers, Marlin Curtis, and Lelton Curtis; sister, Helon Keeton; and great-grandchildren, Brandon Riddle and Molly Kilpatrick.
