Helen Marie Nix

Helen Marie Nix, age 65 of Double Springs, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at North Alabama Medical Center.

She was born February 5, 1959 to Tommy and Alfie Smith. Helen was a daughter, wife, mom and friend, but her favorite title was Nana. She was a caregiver to all those around her. She was a kind, genuine, and always the same wherever you saw her. To know her was to love her.

Visitation will be Monday, April 15, 2024 from 6:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held Tuesday, April 16 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Double Springs. Brother Ricky Robins and Christy Ward will celebrate the life of Helen Nix. Pallbearers will be Landen Nix, Brandon Robins, Lucas Hunter, Nick Moody, Wes Moody, Jaxson Williams, and Gavin Lolley. 

Helen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles Nix; son, Anthony (Cheryl) Nix; daughter, Christy (Kevin) Ward; sisters, Barbara (Ronnie) Roberson, Pam Smith, and Jackie (Ricky) Robins; she was “Nana” to grandchildren, Blake (Lauren) Ward, Landen Nix, Eli Nix, and Raylan Ward; great grandchildren, Dahlia, Kameron, Pheobe, and Karter and a host of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy  and Alfie Smith; and Baby Ward.
