Gary Morris Parkins

Gary Morris Parkins, age 56 of Double Springs entered into rest on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

Mr. Parkins was born on July 22, 1965 in Haleyville, Alabama and graduated from Winston County High School in 1983, where he played on the football team. He loved “fixing up” classic cars, playing music and riding his motorcycles.   

The family will hold a private service at a later date.

Gary is survived by his wife, Jan Parkins; son, Gary “Bubba” Parkins; daughter, Amber Parkins; sister, Sharon P. Neeley; stepsister, Martha Jane Hood; brother, Dennis Pace; dad, Jimmy Batchelor; four grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Batchelor; brother, Christopher Ray Batchelor; stepbrother, Jimmy Luther Batchelor; and grandmother, Kizzie Howell.
