Donovan Duwayne "Wayne" Nelson

Donovan Duwayne Nelson, 82 of Double Springs, entered into rest on March 2, 2021 at his residence.

Wayne enjoyed working on guns, hunting, fishing and watching westerns.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 6-8:30pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11am at Poplar Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in the Poplar Springs Community. Brother Danny Page will officiate. The family requests that all who attend please wear a mask.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ellen Nelson; children, Clint Nelson (Elizabeth), Johnny Nelson, Donna Lay (Richard), Anthony Nelson (Belinda) and Karen Abney (JJ);  12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Sutherland (Doyle) and Mary McCullar; and brother, Perry Nelson (Carolyn).

He was preceded in death by his father, Awyer Nelson; and mother, Ivah Overton Tyler.
