Carolton Wayne Hyatt of Arley Alabama was called to his Heavenly home on Tuesday evening, March 28, 2023 while surrounded by his loved ones. Carolton was born on January 2, 1941 in Arley, Alabama to the late Joel and Mary Allie (Davis) Hyatt. He was the youngest of 3 children. He graduated from Meek High School with the class of 1959. Carolton married Peggy Carolyn (Parris) Hyatt on June 20, 1959 in Arley Alabama. To this union, three children were born, Kevin Dwayne, David Keith, and Kenneth Bradley. He began his working career in the mobile home industry in Winston County. He was later a furniture entrepreneur by manufacturing his own furniture and also served as a furniture sales representative. Carolton was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served the Lord as a deacon for 42 years and taught Sunday School. In his spare time, he and Peggy enjoyed vacations with family and friends, camping and playing Rook on weekends. Left to mourn in his passing are his wife of 63 years, Peggy; sons, Kevin (Faith), Keith (Nancy) and Ken (Judy); grandchildren Ali (J.B.) Huffman, Melanie (Paul) Coleman, Meghann Hyatt, Hayden (Stephanie) Hyatt, Holden (Autumn) Hyatt, Holland Hyatt, Alli (Josh) Taylor, Matt (Leah) Swindle, LJ Vatella and Erica Vatella; great grandchildren Journey and Callahan Huffman, Hyatt Coleman, Mia, Marley and AJ Taylor, Lizzie and Charlie Swindle. He is also survived by a host of several in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joel and Allie, and two sisters Helen (Miles) Thomas, and Myra Jo (Edwin) Hicks. Pallbearers; Paul Coleman, Gary Dover, Jimmy Dover, J.B. Huffman, Hayden Hyatt, Holden Hyatt, Steve Thomas and Ellis Wade. Visitation will be held on Saturday (April 1 st ) at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison Alabama from 6-8 pm. The funeral will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Arley Alabama on Sunday (April 2 nd ) at 2 pm with the viewing starting at 1 pm. We would like to give a special thanks to Josh Smith from Hospice for his assistance during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Bethel Baptist Church cemetery fund.
