Brenda Lynette Nesmith Wood

Brenda Lynette Nesmith Wood, 58 of Cullman, entered into rest on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Brenda was born on January 31, 1961 in Hollywood, Florida. She was a graduate of Falkville High School and attended Wallace State Community College. She was a member of Addison Church of God for over twenty years.  Brenda proudly served her country in the Army National Guard for 17 years, including service during the Iraq War. She enjoyed sewing and painting.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 12-2pm at Addison Church of God, where services will follow at 2pm. Rodney Ridgeway, Pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Addison Church of God Cemetery.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 32 years, Alan Dale Wood; sons, Mitchell Alan Wood and Nicholas Anthony (Delilah) Wood; daughters, Stephanie Lynette (Todd) Brown, and Amanda Marie (Jonathan) Gilliland; mother, Lynette Nesmith; brothers, James (Vanessa) Nesmith, Robert (Cindy) Nesmith and William Glover; sister, Karen Marten; and was "Maw Maw" to 6 grandchildren, Brook Brown, Luke Brown, Ann Marie Wood, Malcolm Gilliland, Maggie Gilliland and Maddox Gilliland.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Edward Nesmith.
