Bennie Wayne Cornelius

Bennie Wayne Cornelius, 72 of Double Springs, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at his residence.

Bennie was born on April 26, 1950, in Haleyville, Alabama. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and loved Alabama Football, hunting, fishing, and cutting timber.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home – Double Springs, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Cornelius Cemetery. Brother Larry Dyar will officiate

Bennie is survived by his wife, Rita Cornelius; son, Derek Wayne Cornelius; granddaughters, Presley Hope Cornelius, Maci Faith Cornelius (daughters of Derek and Carrie Nicole Cornelius); brothers, Harlan (Frances) Cornelius and Harold Bruce Cornelius; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Scott Cornelius; parents, Aaron Benny Cornelius and Bonnie Bell Cornelius; and brother Johnnie Ray Cornelius.
