Benjamin Bates Hyde

Benjamin Bates Hyde, age 84 of Haleyville, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 1, 1935. Visitation will be Monday, December 9, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church in Haleyville from 11:00 am – 1:00 p.m., where the service will be held at 1 p.m.. Brother Ritchie Emerson will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Hyde is survived by his wife, Nettie Ruth Parker Hyde; children, Benny, Carolyn, and Roger Hyde; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Timmy Hyde; parents Spencer Floyd and Vernia Bates Hyde; and all his siblings. Benjamin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of great integrity, humor, and kindness. Pallbearers will be John Hayes, Eric Hyde, Jared Hyde, Taylor Caldwell, and Brady Caldwell.
