Jerrell Roy Mardant, Sr.

September 18, 1941 — September 3, 2006

Jerrell Roy Mardant, Sr. age 64 of Jasper, Alabama passed away in Bessemer. Mr. Mardant was a police officer, retired from the Birmingham Police Department. In addition to his service to the community in the police department Mr. Mardant was an ordained minister and pastored a number of churches in Alabama and Louisiana, including Rock Creek Baptist Church in Double Springs. Visitation will be Tuesday at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs from 6:00 to 9:00PM where funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1:00PM. Reverend Brian Suttles will officiate. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery in the Black Pond Community. He is survived by: Wife: Brenda Sons: Jerrell (Glenda) Mardant and John Anthony Wheeler Daughters: Linda (Jim) Ciasto and Miranda Jo Wheeler Brothers: James Daniel (Freida) Suttles and Lee Roberts (Brenda) Suttles Sister: Shellie Jane (Steven) Rambin 6 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Louie and Annie Lee (Roberts) Suttles and a brother David Guy Suttles.
