Mary Alice Garrison

Mary Alice Garrison, 73, of Double Springs, entered into rest on December 7, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Garrison was born on November 7, 1944, in Haleyville, Alabama. Mary Alice worked at Garan Incorporated and then was a Department Manager at Wal-Mart until her retirement.  She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church for 15 years.  Mary Alice loved gardening in her flower garden, was a good seamstress, she was an excellent cook and was the "queen of trying new recipes"!.  She enjoyed traveling to visit family and new places.  Mary Alice loved her children, grandchildren and was more like a mother than a mother in law.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org in Memory of Mary Alice Garrison.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 12pm-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2pm. Reverend Larry Douglas will officiate. Burial will follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mary Alice is survived by her son, Paul Garrison and his wife Janie; daughters, Patricia Waldner and her husband Glen, Anita Setliff, Relena Noland and her husband Robert, Tina Adamson and her husband Joey, Daurinda McPhail and her husband Joe; brothers, Benji Clark and his wife Gail, Charlie Clark; sisters, Martha Riddle, Sharon Baccus and her husband Larry, Nelda Edwards and her husband Gerald. She was "Nanaw" to 15 grandchildren, Andrew (Cassie) Waldner, Alex (Katie) Waldner, Tabatha (Jamey) Mays, Cody (Heidi) Garrison, Lauren Commiskey, Emily (Andrew) Liebner, Shae (Tommy) Mobley, Thomas Setliff, Danielle Noland, Andrea Noland, Matthew Adamson, Josh (Chandler) Adamson, Ashley Adamson, Nicholas McPhail, Clarke McPhail; 12 great grandchildren, Ava-Lynn Waldner, Abel Waldner, Tyler Mays, Breck Mays, Miles Garrison, arriving in April, Charlee Garrison, Gunner Commiskey, Cal Liebner , baby Liebner due to arrive in December, Austin Mobley, Dakota Mobley, Alyssa Mobley; and special Aunt Ruth White.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lee Roy Garrison; parents, Benny and Monteain Clark; brothers, Edgar Clark, Junior Clark, Elroy Clark and Russell Clark.
